International Pharmacy

What is the practice of pharmacy like under a government run health care system?

While the U.S. debates the pros and cons of health care reform, there has been much discussion as to what our health care system would be like under partial or whole government control, as it is in most other industrialized nations. Specifically, I would like very much to hear from our pharmacy colleagues who practice in countries around the world where government-run health care systems are the norm. Some of the more common questions would be: Do you sometimes wish that you were working under a free-market insurance sytem as in the U.S. with no, or little government intervention in health care? Do you feel you are paid properly? If you could change the way you practice pharmacy, what is on your wish list? Please identify the country in which you work in your response.
