Description
The Director of Pharmacy at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, implementing, evaluating, recruiting staff, retaining staff, directing, budgeting and controlling the provision of services for the Pharmacy Department. Participates in Medication Management processes through collaborative teamwork, interaction, and sharing with administration, physicians, nurses, department managers, and other team members. Responsible for contributing to safe medication management where Pharmacy contributes to the process: including: selection, procurement, storage, ordering, transcribing, preparing, dispensing and monitoring medications. Directs hiring process and makes recommendations to management and staff for making the department successful. Sets goals, acts as the leader for P & T Committee and make recommendations in a collaborative team approach to accomplish organizations goals. Views responsibilities and functions as running a business with goal of improving patient´s outcomes. Includes a global view of operations related to supplies, materials, staff, equipment and other support tools needed for the success of the whole team and the organization. Participation in the Quality Improvement process is also expected
Qualifications
Education: Pharmacy degree required. Master’s Degree in Management or Business preferred. State Pharmacist & Consultant License required.
Experience: 5-7 years hospital Experience. Hospital Management or Director experience preferred. Additional business and or clinical experience or background preferred.
Skills: Has good skills in team building, human relations, organizational, critical thinking and communication skills, in a detail-oriented, multi-tasks, customer- focused organizational manner. Manages stress appropriately and can make decisions under pressure. Can handle multiple priorities, Self-directed and motivated to be a team organizer and leader. Willingness and skills to direct activities through completion of planned projects. Computer skills related to Word, Excel preferred.
