Glasgow, UK: The histamine H2-receptor antagonist famotidine is effective in the prevention of peptic ulcers and erosive esophagitis in patients taking low-dose aspirin. This was the conclusion of a team of investigators in a study published in The Lancet. According to the investigators, 30% of the population is taking low-dose aspirin.
