I attended Wayne State University in Detroit and graduated with my pharmacy degree in May of 1984. Wayne State University is a great school with an excellent pharmacy program. One of the most important things that I did while in school, was get involved. I have been a member of Kappa Psi since November of 1981 and have had the great experience of lifelong friendships to this day. If you are in school, it is something so important - get involved. After graduation, I taught pharmacy technicians for a few years. It was a good experience and you learn a lot while being in front of the class. It is not an easy job, but it can be quite rewarding. Later, I realized that I wanted to do more, and I attended the APhA Apple Program in Rhode Island in the Summer of 1991. The programs we completed and the connections that we made during that time at the Alton Jones Campus gave many of us one of the best moments of our pharmacy career. After that, I looked towards the MBA program at Wayne State University for additional business experience. It was a very long program and I gained a lot through many nights at every Wayne State Campus in the Metro Detroit Area. I received my MBA in December of 1999. I have worked for Mills Pharmacy, an independent in pharmacy in Birmingham, Michigan, and also at CVS. Currently, I am a pharmacist with Costco Pharmacy. I have attended many APhA Conventions and Grand Council Conventions with Kappa Psi. Recently, I received recognition for 25 years of membership with the Michigan Pharmacists Association. It is something so important. Get involved.
