Graduated from Rutgers College of Pharmacy in 1995. My first pharmacist job was working for Revco. After a couple years there I wanted to see how I would enjoy hospital pharmacy so I worked at Franciscan Medical Center for 3 years until it closed due to financial problems. CVS Pharmacy bought the outpatient prescription files from Franciscan, and I worked for them for the next 3 years, and then I took some time off to have 2 kids. When I started working regularly again, I took a job at Kmart and have been there ever since. At this point in my career, I consider myself a full-fledged retail pharmacist. I like retail pharmacy because I can get to know people while helping them with their medications. Hospital pharmacy is great because you are working side-by-side with many other pharmacist colleagues, but you are not in contact with your patients as much as you are in retail pharmacy. That's the best part of pharmacy, for me.
