I always wanted to be an RN - it's what's in my heart but the sciences and I just don't get along! So, pharmacy is my choice of venue. I received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee - and I have my CPhT which I use to make my living. I started in Pharmacy in 1983 -went out of the field after graduating from college then went back into pharmacy in 1999.
I actually work in a very unique pharmacy - a "Compounding Only" pharmacy. I find my work very interesting and fulfilling. Approximately 20 - 25% of our "patients" are veterinary. We are an accredited Compounding Pharmacy (which we are very proud of). I work for an independent - a husband and wife own the pharmacy. She is an RN and he is a RPh. Love the hours - M-F 9:30am - 6pm - off on the weekends. (Not like retail, huh?)
I have started learning the sterile side of compounding which I am enjoying. We have a very nice Clean Room as well as a Chemo Room (we do quite a bit of Chemo for dogs.)
Personally, I am 45 (at the time of this writing 7/21/09), divorced, no children and work and reside in Hickory, North Carolina.
